Mark Damelin

Chief Operating Officer

Mark is the Chief Operating Officer of JCClark Ltd.. Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy from The University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa in 1978. Mark has completed the Partners, Directors and Officers Qualifying Exam (2003) and CFO Qualifying Exam (2005) and is a Chartered Accountant. For the past 25 years Mark has pursued a career in the Canadian financial services industry. He has served in senior positions in leading financial services firms including Connor Clark & Company, a discretionary investment management firm with assets under management of $1.4 billion; Connor Clark Private Trust Company, a financial intermediary and wealth management firm with total assets in excess of $2 billion; Royal Bank of Canada, Canada’s largest financial institution; and JCClark Ltd. (2002). Mark has extensive experience in the investment industry in general and the alternative investment industry in particular, including fund structuring, finance and accounting, taxation, administration, operations, systems and technology, and compliance. Mark sits on the Board of Caledon Trust Company and also serves as President of Commonwealth Fund Services Ltd., its subsidiary.

Jennifer Doherty

Chief Compliance Officer & Operations Manager

Jennifer Doherty is Chief Compliance Officer and Operations Manager and joined the firm in 2001. Jennifer is responsible for the firm’s compliance and day-to-day operations and client service. Jennifer has completed the Canadian Securities Course (1998), the Conduct & Practices Handbook Course (1999), the Partners, Directors and Officers Qualifying Exam (2001), Trader Training Course (2002) and the CCO Qualifying Exam (2008). Prior to joining JCClark, Jennifer served as Operations and Client Services Manager at Connor Clark & Co. and has worked closely with John Clark and Mark Damelin for more than fourteen years.

Binh Hong

Controller

Binh Hong joined JCClark in 2003 as the firm’s Controller. Binh is responsible for the firm’s accounting and regulatory reporting function and implementation and monitoring of internal controls. Binh has completed the CGA Level 3 as well as the Canadian Securities Course (1998). Prior to joining JCClark, Binh served at Connor Clark & Company Ltd. and Connor Clark Private Trust as a Financial Analyst. Binh has worked with John Clark and Mark Damelin for more than eleven years. From 1999 to 2003, she served as a Senior Financial Analyst at RBC Financial Group.

Sarah Noble

Executive Assistant

Sarah Noble joined the firm in 2010. In addition to her role as Executive Assistant Sarah is an integral part of the firm's administrative and client service team. Immediately prior to joining JCClark Ltd. Sarah worked for the Office of the Auditor General of Ontario and started her career in client services within the Financial Services sector. Sarah received an Honours BA from the University of Toronto (2004) and a Master of Public Administration from the City University of New York (2008).

Darcy DaSilva

Operations

Darcy DaSilva is a member of the operations team and is responsible for day-to-day office support. Darcy joined JC Clark in 2001 after completing 4 years with Connor Clark & Company Ltd. in various capacities. Darcy has worked with John Clark for more than eleven years.

Violeta Almeida

Reception & Operations

Violeta Almeida serves as the firm’s Receptionist and is also a member of the operations team. Her regular responsibilities include greeting guests, data input, reconciliation and internal report distribution. Violeta joined JC Clark in 2005 after completing 14 years with Connor Clark & Company Ltd. in various capacities. Violeta completed her education in Africa and Portugal before emigrating to Canada in 1982.
