Timothy Casgrain is a consultant to Skyservice Investments Inc., a Canadian business aviation company where he was previously Vice-Chairman. Mr. Casgrain also served as Chair of the CBC/Radio Canada Board of Directors, as well as Anaconda Mining, and is a Director of SiriusXM Canada. Mr. Casgrain served as the Executive Vice President of Brookfield Asset Management Inc from 1976 to 2002, and was appointed a member of the Order of Canada in 2014. Mr. Casgrain joined the Toronto Rehab Foundation Board in 2004 and served as Chair 2008-2014. Born in Montreal, Mr. Casgrain received a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in 1969. In 1976, he became a member of the Order of Chartered Accountants of Quebec.
David Feather has 30 years of experience in the investment management industry. He is currently Chairman of Russell Investments Canada Ltd., where he served as President and CEO from 2010 to 2017. Previously he was with Mackenzie Financial Corp. from 1991 to 2010 and was President of Mackenzie Financial Services Inc. from 2002 to 2010. He has also worked in the Economic Strategy Group at Ernst & Young (Woods Gordon), and as a Senior Financial Analyst at Bank of Montreal (Corporate and Government Banking).
David is Chairman of The Peter Cundill Foundation, a Bermuda-based purpose trust with a mission to improve the wellbeing of young people, primarily through social investment in education, sport and mental health. In managing its investment portfolio, the organization has maintained the value-based investment principles of it’s benefactor. David is involved in several other not-for-profit organizations, including being a member of the Board of Governors of McMaster University. He graduated from McMaster with a B.A. Economics in 1985, and an MBA in 1989. He has previously been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 and was the 2007 recipient of the Wayne Fox Distinguished Alumni Award for DeGroote School of Business.
Anthony Griffiths is the Chairman of Novadaq Technologies Inc. and a Director of Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd., Fairfax India Holding Corporation and Blue Ant Media Inc. Over his career he has held senior positions with Consumers Packaging Ltd., Jonlab Investments Ltd., Canadian Cablesystems Ltd., and Connor, Clark & Company Ltd.. Mr. Griffiths served as President and CEO of the Mitel Corporation from 1985 to 1987, and 1991 to 1993, and served as President and CEO of the Ondaatje Corporation from 1993 to 1995. Born in Rangoon, Burma, Mr. Griffiths received his Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in 1954 and his Masters of Business Administration from The Harvard Graduate School of Business in 1956.
Jon Haick spent fourteen years with Brookfield Asset Management in the private equity group focused on service and industrial businesses. Most recently, he was a senior managing partner based in Toronto and responsible for the global service businesses. Prior to that, Jon spent four years in London heading the European business. Jon has a background in private equity, restructuring and corporate finance and has been involved in a number of significant transactions during his career, including in real estate, industrials and financial services as well as executing a number of capital raises for portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Brookfield, he was employed at a Toronto-based corporate finance advisory firm focused on mid-market transactions. Jon started his career in the assurance practice of Ernst & Young, for clients in the financial services industry.
He graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an honours bachelor of business administration, trained as a Chartered Accountant and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
Jon is currently a non-executive director for Brookfield Residential Properties and is on the Deans’ Advisory Council for the business school at Wilfrid Laurier University. His prior board experience includes public and private company boards including Norbord Inc., Canary Wharf Group Investment Holdings plc, and Eurobank Ergasias SA.
Benjie Thomas is the Canadian Managing Partner for Advisory Services at KPMG. Prior to his current role, he was the National Industry Leader of KPMG’s Private Equity Practice in Canada. Benjie was a member of KPMG in Canada’s Board of Directors (2013-2016).
With over 15 years with KPMG, Benjie has advised on some of the most prominent Canadian transactions. Benjie’s specialties include Private Equity, Pension Plans, Food, Beverage, Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail and Technology. He is also a member of the Management Committee for KPMG in Canada.
Benjie is a member of CVCA and the Association of Corporate Growth and is very active in the community. In 2011, Benjie was presented with The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario’s Award of Distinction which honours those CAs who have made an early impact, bringing distinction to themselves and to their profession through leadership and achievement in their professional, community and/or personal lives. In addition to garnering an Award of Distinction, Benjie also was named as the recipient of the Christine E. Sinclair Community Leadership Award.
